Claude AI Agent Development, Built Into the Systems You Already Run

Your team has picked Claude, or is leaning that way, and now someone has to build the agent, connect it to NetSuite, Odoo, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk or Shopify, and keep it working. FactoryJet builds custom agents on Anthropic's Claude models with the Claude API, tool use, MCP servers and the Claude Agent SDK. A person approves anything that matters. You own the code.

FactoryJet is an independent development firm. We are not affiliated with Anthropic, and Claude is Anthropic's product.

Claude AI Agent Development: The Short Answers

The six things buyers ask us first about building on Claude.

WHAT WE BUILD

What does a Claude AI agent do for a business?

It takes one repeat job and does it inside your systems, using Claude to read and decide and your own rules to check the result. Examples: reading emailed purchase orders and drafting the sales order in NetSuite or Odoo, answering order tickets in Zendesk or Gorgias with live Shopify data, and logging and scoring inbound leads in HubSpot or Salesforce. A person approves anything that moves money.

BUILDING BLOCKS

Which parts of Claude do you build with?

Four, picked per job. The Claude API with tool use for most agents. MCP servers when several AI tools need the same data. The Claude Agent SDK when an agent works with files, code or long sessions. And Claude inside Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud or Microsoft Foundry when your company already buys cloud there. Anthropic lists the cloud routes in its models overview, and documents tool use, the Agent SDK and MCP separately.

FIT

When is Claude the right model?

When the job means long documents, many tool calls in a row, or asking a person when something is missing. Every current Claude model reads up to 1 million tokens at once, per Anthropic's docs on 29 October 2026. When the job needs live Google search or your security team has approved another provider, we build on that instead. We test both on your examples during the demo.

YOUR DATA

Does Anthropic train on what our agent sends?

Not by default. Anthropic's privacy center says it does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products to train its models by default, and it deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days unless another term is agreed. Usage can run on an account in your company's name, and our code sends the model only the fields each step needs.

COST

How much does a Claude agent cost to build?

As a market reference, development firm ProductCrafters puts 2026 AI agent builds at about $5,000 to $180,000 or more. See Q18 below for what moves the price on a Claude build.

TIMELINE

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks for a pilot on one workflow, six to twelve for production. Q12 below covers where the time goes on a Claude build.

Building Blocks

The Four Parts of Claude We Build With

Each one solves a different problem. Most agents use one or two of them. We checked every fact in this section against Anthropic's own documentation on 29 October 2026.

CAP‑01

Claude API with tool use

We describe each of your actions to Claude as a tool: a name, a plain description and an input format. Claude returns a structured request, and our code runs it against your system, checks the answer and sends it back. Anthropic calls these client tools, because they run in your application, not on Anthropic's servers (tool use docs).

Messages APITool useStrict schemas
CAP‑02

MCP servers for your ERP or CRM

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI apps to outside systems, and both Claude and ChatGPT support it (MCP docs). We write a small server that exposes only the actions you approve, such as "look up order" or "create draft quote". Our custom MCP server guide covers what it takes.

NetSuiteOdooHubSpotSalesforce
CAP‑03

Claude Agent SDK

Anthropic's library for building agents in Python or TypeScript. It gives an agent the same loop that powers Claude Code, with built-in tools, hooks, subagents, sessions and permission rules that decide which tools run on their own and which wait for approval (Agent SDK docs). We reach for it when the job involves files, code or long sessions.

CAP‑04

Claude inside your cloud

Claude models are offered through the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry. Running the agent in the cloud you already pay for keeps billing, access control and security review in one place. Anthropic notes that Bedrock offers regional endpoints with guaranteed data routing for recent models.

§ Jobs

Six Jobs We Build Claude Agents to Do

§01

Order intake from emailed POs. Reads the purchase order, matches each line to your SKUs and price list, and drafts the sales order in NetSuite, Odoo or Shopify. Lines that do not match go to a person with the reason.

§02

RFQ to draft quote. Pulls quantities and specs from the request, applies your pricing rules in code, and holds the quote for an estimator to approve before it goes out.

§03

Punchout and procurement orders. Handles the orders that arrive after a buyer shops your catalog from their procurement system, and flags any cart that breaks your contract prices.

§04

Support tickets with live order data. Answers where-is-my-order, returns and address changes in Zendesk or Gorgias from live store data. Refunds above your limit go to a person.

§05

CRM lead triage. Finds or creates the contact in HubSpot or Salesforce, logs the activity, scores the lead against your rules and drafts a reply for a rep to send.

§06

Long document review. Reads contracts, supplier terms or policy files in one pass and lists the clauses your team asked to see, with the page each came from.

If the model is still an open question, our AI agent development page covers the same work without a fixed model, and our AI integration services connect Claude, GPT or Gemini to tools you already run.

Claude or Another Model? How We Decide

The jobWhat we usually test firstWhy
Sorting, extraction and routing at high volumeClaude HaikuAnthropic describes Haiku 5.5 as the model for high-volume, latency-sensitive tasks such as classification, extraction and routing.
Most multi-step agentsClaude SonnetAnthropic calls Sonnet 5.5 the best mix of speed and intelligence. Most production steps we test start here.
Hard cases and long tool chainsClaude OpusAnthropic’s tool use docs say Claude Opus is much more likely to notice a missing detail and ask for it, instead of guessing.
The hardest reasoning and long-horizon workClaude Fable 5.1Anthropic describes Fable 5.1 as the model for demanding reasoning and long-horizon agentic work. It is slower, so we keep it for the steps that need it.
Answers that need live Google search resultsOften GeminiOur Washington Law Group agent runs on Gemini because the job is finding news stories fast. We pick the model per job.
Your security team approved one provider onlyThat providerA build that cannot pass your review helps nobody. We keep model calls behind one layer so you can switch later.

Model names come from Anthropic's models overview as of 29 October 2026, and they change. Your build document names the exact model ID, and the test set we build with you tells us when a newer model is worth the move.

Send Us Your Brief or RFP

Already have a written brief, an RFP or a list of requirements? Email it to connect@factoryjet.com or attach it at the second step of this form. No brief yet? Send three answers:

  1. What starts the work? An email, a form, a ticket, an RFQ or a punchout order.
  2. Which systems does it touch? For example NetSuite, HubSpot, Salesforce or Shopify.
  3. Is Claude already chosen? If your company has approved it, or buys it through AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft, tell us.

Bhavesh, our founder, reads every brief and replies within 24 hours.

§ Data

How Your Data Moves Through a Claude Agent

§01

Your systems stay behind our code. Claude asks for a tool, our code runs it, checks the answer and decides what goes back. The model never gets a database password.

§02

Each step sends only the fields it needs. A step that sorts an email by type does not need the customer's address, so it does not get it.

§03

Anthropic says it does not train on inputs or outputs from its commercial products by default, and that it deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days unless a different term, such as zero data retention, is agreed (Anthropic privacy center).

§04

The account can be yours. When usage runs on your own Anthropic key or cloud account, your security team sees every request and holds the agreement. We still manage the servers, models, APIs and upkeep.

§05

Writes wait for a person. Anything that moves money, changes a price or emails a customer goes to an approval queue first, and every step is logged with what the agent saw and did.

Process

How a Claude Agent Project Runs, Phase by Phase

Each phase is scoped, priced and signed on its own, in writing. You decide on the next phase after you have seen the last one work.

  1. 01

    Scoping call

Bhavesh runs it. What starts the work, which systems it touches, how often it happens, where a person must approve, and whether Claude fits or a plain automation is enough.

  2. 02

    Demo on your data

Before you sign, the agent runs on a sample of your own documents on Claude, and on a second model if the choice is still open. You see the results side by side.

  3. 03

    Pilot

One workflow live in your systems. Tools limited to read and draft, every output approved by your team. Paid at milestones.

  4. 04

    Production

More volume and the edge cases the pilot found, with logs, an alert when a step fails, and your test set run on every change.

  5. 05

    Rollout

More workflows, or an MCP server so other AI tools can use the same actions. Each one scoped and priced on its own.

Proof

What We Have Built

One product we make that runs on Claude, and one client agent that runs on a different model, so you can see how we choose.

BUILT ON CLAUDE

Commerceflo

Commerceflo is the AI commerce platform FactoryJet makes. Its privacy policy says its AI features run in part on the Claude API, and its pricing page says Claude Haiku handles fast, high-volume jobs while Claude Sonnet handles harder analysis, with routing that picks a model for each job. The GPSUK trade store runs on Commerceflo.

AI AGENT · LIVE

Washington Law Group

An agent that reads news and police sources across all 50 states every two hours and emails the firm each crash that qualifies. It runs on Gemini, not Claude, because the job needed live search. The guardrail carries over: every name the model returns is checked against the article text before it is saved.

FAQ

Building on Claude, Answered Directly

Real questions buyers ask, no hedging.

Choosing Claude
Q01Why would we build our agent on Claude instead of GPT or Gemini?

We pick the model for each job. Claude does well on long documents and on many tool calls in a row, and every current Claude model reads up to 1 million tokens at once, which suits contracts, catalogs and long email threads. GPT or Gemini can win on a given task. During the demo we run your real examples on two models and show you the results side by side before you commit.

Q02Which Claude model will our agent use?

It depends on the step. Anthropic’s models overview, checked on 29 October 2026, lists four current models: Haiku 5.5 for high-volume, latency-sensitive tasks such as classification, extraction and routing, Sonnet 5.5 as the best combination of speed and intelligence, Opus 5.5 for long-running agentic coding and knowledge work, and Fable 5.1 for demanding reasoning and long-horizon agentic work. Many agents use two: a fast model to sort incoming work and a stronger one for the hard cases. We name the exact model ID in your build document.

Q03Can you build on Claude if our company already uses AWS, Google Cloud or Azure?

Usually, yes. Anthropic lists Claude models on the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry. Running Claude in the cloud you already pay for keeps billing, access control and security review in one place, and Bedrock offers regional endpoints that keep data routing inside a region. We confirm which models your cloud offers in your region before we quote.

Q04Can we switch from Claude to another model later?

Yes. We put every model call behind one small layer in your code, so a switch means changing a setting and re-running the test set we built with you. The test set matters more than the switch, because it tells you whether the new model still gets your edge cases right. Prompts usually need some tuning after a move, and we quote that work before we start.

Q05Our team already likes Claude in the chat app. Why do we need a developer?

The chat app answers questions. An agent does work inside your systems: it reads a purchase order, checks stock in NetSuite, drafts the order and waits for approval. That takes code that calls the Claude API, tools that read and write your systems, permission rules, logs and tests. Anthropic also asks that products built on its Agent SDK use API keys rather than a claude.ai sign-in.

How we build
Q06What is the Claude Agent SDK, and will you use it?

The Claude Agent SDK is Anthropic’s library for building agents in Python or TypeScript. It gives an agent the same tool loop that powers Claude Code, plus built-in tools, hooks, subagents, sessions, permissions and MCP connections. We use it when the agent works with files, runs code or needs long sessions. For a narrow job, such as reading one type of email, a direct Claude API call with a few tools is simpler to test.

Q07What is an MCP server, and do we need one?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI apps to outside systems. An MCP server is a small program that exposes chosen actions from your ERP or CRM, such as look up order or create draft quote. You need one when more than one AI tool should use the same data, or when staff want Claude on their desktop to reach your systems. It exposes only the actions you approve.

Q08How does Claude actually use our software?

Through tool use, which Anthropic also calls function calling. We describe each tool to Claude with a name, a description and an input format. When Claude decides it needs a tool, it returns a structured request. Our code runs that request against your system, checks the result and sends it back. Claude never touches your database directly. Our code sits in the middle and can refuse a request.

Q09Which business systems can a Claude agent connect to?

Anything with an API. We connect agents to NetSuite, Odoo, SAP Business One, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Gorgias, Shopify, WooCommerce, QuickBooks and Xero, plus email, Slack and punchout catalogs. If a system has no API, we tell you on the first call, because the agent may then need file exports or a person in the loop, and that changes the plan and the price.

Q10Can a Claude agent work with our HubSpot or Salesforce records?

Yes. A common job: read an inbound email or form, find or create the contact, log the activity, score the lead against your rules and draft a reply for a rep to approve. The agent works through the CRM’s own API, using an account that has only the permissions it needs. Every write is logged, so your admin can see what changed and why.

Q11Can a Claude agent handle punchout orders and emailed POs?

Yes. Punchout lets a buyer’s procurement system, such as Coupa or SAP Ariba, open your catalog and send back a cart. A Claude agent can read the purchase order that follows, match each line to your SKUs and price list, and draft the sales order in your ERP. Lines that do not match go to a person with the reason, so nothing is guessed.

Q12How long does a Claude agent project take?

A pilot on one narrow workflow usually takes two to four weeks. A production agent with permissions, logs, approvals and monitoring usually takes six to twelve weeks. Most of that time goes into connecting your systems and testing edge cases. The Claude Agent SDK ships hooks, sessions and permission rules, so we do not write those by hand. The demo on your own data comes first, before any contract, so you judge the agent before the clock starts.

Data and safety
Q13Will Anthropic train its models on our data?

Not by default. Anthropic’s privacy center says it does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products, which include the API, to train its models by default. Training can happen if you opt in, for example by sending feedback. We still send the model only the fields each step needs, and we keep customer details out of prompts wherever the job allows it.

Q14How long does Anthropic keep what our agent sends?

Anthropic says it deletes API inputs and outputs on its backend within 30 days by default. Some cases differ, such as content flagged in a policy review or a signed zero data retention agreement. If your security team needs a different term, that agreement sits between you and Anthropic or your cloud provider, so when you want that agreement in your name, we set the agent up on an account in your company’s name.

Q15Whose Claude account does the agent run on?

Yours, if you want it. We set the agent up on your own Anthropic API key or your own Bedrock, Google Cloud or Foundry account, so usage bills go straight to you at cost, with no markup from us. You can see every request in your own console. If you prefer, we manage the account for you and pass the usage cost through without a markup. Either way, we keep managing the servers, AI models, APIs and maintenance.

Q16How do you stop the agent from doing something wrong?

Three layers. First, the agent can only call the tools we give it, and each tool checks its inputs. Second, anything that moves money, changes a price or emails a customer waits for a person to approve it. Third, every step is logged, and we test the agent against a set of your real past cases before launch and again after every change.

Q17Can a Claude agent make things up?

Any language model can. So our code checks the output against the source. When an agent pulls a name, an amount or a SKU from a document, the code confirms that value exists in the document or in your system before saving it. Our Washington Law Group agent runs this check on every name it extracts, and it has caught and dropped invented names in real runs.

Cost
Q18How much does it cost to build an AI agent on Claude?

As a market reference, development firm ProductCrafters puts 2026 AI agent builds at about $5,000 to $180,000 or more. The number of systems the agent reads and writes to moves the price far more than the choice of Claude. FactoryJet quotes a fixed price in writing for your scope after one scoping call, and you see the agent working on your own data first.

Q19Does choosing Claude change the build price?

Rarely by much. The build cost sits in connecting your systems, writing approval rules and testing edge cases, and that work is the same whichever model sits in the middle. Model choice changes your usage bill, which goes to your own account. For each step we pick the smallest model that passes your test set, and we show you the test results behind that choice.

Terms and next steps
Q20Do we own the code and the prompts?

Yes, from day one. The code lives in your own Git repository, along with the prompts, the tool definitions, the test set and any MCP server we write. There is no license fee from us. You can keep us on for support, hand the work to your own team or bring in another firm. Claude usage itself is between you and Anthropic or your cloud provider.

Q21What happens after the agent goes live?

Defects are fixed inside the build price for a cover period we agree before work starts. After that, support is optional: each change is quoted and approved before we start, with no monthly minimum. Agents drift when your prices, policies or data change, and Anthropic retires older models on a published schedule, so we can watch accuracy and move you to a newer model when one is due.

Q22Can we send you an RFP or a written brief?

Yes, please do. Email it to connect@factoryjet.com, or attach it at the second step of the form on this page. A useful brief names the job, the systems it touches, a rough weekly volume and who checks the work today. Bhavesh, our founder, reads every brief and replies within 24 hours with questions or a time for a scoping call.

Q23Do you build Claude agents for companies outside the US?

Yes. We work with clients in the US, the UK and other countries. If your data has to stay in one region, we check which Claude endpoints your cloud offers there before we design the agent, because that can decide whether the agent runs on the Claude API or inside Bedrock, Google Cloud or Foundry.

Tell Us the Job, We'll Tell You If Claude Fits

Send the brief, the RFP or three lines about the workflow. We'll tell you whether it is a Claude agent, another model or a plain automation, before you spend anything. Bhavesh, our founder, reads every enquiry and replies within 24 hours.
