What is AI SEO?

AI SEO is the practice of optimizing a website so that AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews — cite it as a source when answering user questions. It overlaps with traditional SEO (you still need clean structure, fast load times, and authority signals) but adds new requirements: schema-rich answer formatting, structured FAQ and HowTo blocks, and third-party citation acquisition that AI engines treat as credibility signals.

GEO vs AEO — what is the difference?

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — optimizing for AI engines that generate answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini). AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization — optimizing for any engine that returns a direct answer instead of a list of links, including Google AI Overviews and traditional featured snippets. How does ChatGPT decide what to cite?

ChatGPT primarily uses Bing-style web search for live information, augmented by its training data for general knowledge. Each article is briefed by a senior strategist, written by a subject-matter expert with verifiable credentials, edited for clarity and answer-extractability, and structured with the schema AI engines extract verbatim (FAQPage, HowTo, Article). We do not use LLM-generated boilerplate. AI engines actively demote LLM-spammed content; expert-authored, structurally clean content is the only durable path.

What schema do you add to my site?

At minimum: Organization, WebPage, BreadcrumbList, Article, FAQPage, and HowTo where applicable. For e-commerce sites we add Product, AggregateRating, and Offer. Do you do link building?

We do citation acquisition, which overlaps with link building but is not the same. The deliverable is named third-party mentions of your experts and products — in publications, podcasts, and directories — that AI engines treat as credibility signals. Can I start with just the audit?

Yes. The $2,499 audit is a complete deliverable — many clients use it as a one-time strategic input, implement the roadmap with their own team, and return for retainer support later. If you do continue into a retainer within 30 days, the audit fee is credited against your first month. Either way, you own all audit deliverables outright.
